About the event

It is an honor for me, as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, to share insights from a decade of dedicated sleep surgical practice. Inspired by a meeting with Dr. Nelson Powell during residency, I completed the sleep surgery fellowship with Stanford Otolaryngology and Dr. Robert Riley in 2014. I stayed as faculty and was promoted to Associate Professor and Director of the Sleep Surgery Fellowship. During those years, the original Riley-Powell Sleep Surgery Protocol was updated. Central to the update is renewed focus on the physiology of nasal breathing and pharyngeal stability during sleep. Beyond a discussion of diagnostic and surgical updates of sleep-disordered breathing, I will also share observations on the global rise of dental sleep medicine.  Thank you for inviting me to promote the central tenet of my work (with your collaboration) – “Restoring sleep airway health is a gateway to wellness.”   www.drstanleyliu.com
