Osteonecrosis of the jaw associated with antiresorptive medications and other cancer therapies has received a considerable amount of attention in the scientific and lay community since it was first described over 15 years ago. Since that time there has there been significant progress toward understanding the pathogenesis of (MRONJ) and the multiple variables associated with its clinical presentation. This lecture will provide a review of the evolving theories on pathogenesis and also provide an update of the recent clinical aspects related to defining, treating and preventing MRONJ.
