Lecture Objectives:
The Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Committee (DQAC) has made significant changes
in the state’s Dental General Anesthesia Permit regulations including mandating an On-Site
Anesthesia Evaluation every 5 years. The Commission has approved the Washington State Society
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as one of the organizations that can administer the On-Site
Inspection. It is essential that all WSSOMS office evaluations meet the same standard.
This course will do the following:
1. Review the standards for the AAOMS Office Anesthesia Evaluation.
2. Calibrate the “WSSOMS Office Inspectors” to assure all office inspections meet AAOMS and
DQAC equipment, records, emergence protocols, regular staff practice drills of emergency protocols,
availability of emergency medications, monitoring, and patient discharge requirements.
3. Prepare the WSSOMS membership for their upcoming office inspection.
4. Review the additional state requirements for General Anesthesia Permit holders
